Travelling Victoria
Vol: 160 april 2013

Thanks for opening this newsletter and your continued support is amazing. River Country Adventours will have been in operation for 20-years in July this year, a milestone we are extremely proud of and we hope to be around for at least another twenty years or so. We need to celebrate this achievement and we will welcome any suggestions from you into how and what we can do? We look forward to all your feedback.

The lucky winner of last month’s competition is Ned Cramborne from Swan Hill. Ned has won the $200.00 gift voucher towards any camping and canoeing adventure along the Lower Goulburn National Park. There will be another chance to win later in this newsletter.

Outback Flight Tours.

Our scheduled flight tours from Shepparton to Innamincka and the Flinders Ranges are now available and we are taking bookings. There is some water coming down the Warburton River and we are watching carefully if this will reach Lake Eyre. In any case Lake Eyre is quite spectacular when it is the largest salt pan in the world. For as far as you can see in every direction there is the white salt, quite spectacular.

The next tours with vacancies at the moment for the Burke & Wills tour are-

  • May 2-3., May 12-13 & May 27-28.

These flight tours are valued at $1,995.00 p.p. and represents excellent value, with a boat cruise on Cooper Creek and a land tour to places of interest in the Innamincka region. It is 152-years since the demise of Burke & Wills.

We are also now taking bookings and expressions of interest in our annual flight tours to Ceduna to witness the massing of the Southern Right whales at the Head of Bight. This 3-day tour is very popular during the winter months. For all enquiries on these special flight tours please contact us at River Country Adventours phone 0428 585 227 or email

The Shire of Loddon.

During the month I had the pleasure of being taken to many of the tourism attractions in the Shire of Loddon. We were so impressed that we will be expanding our coach tours into the region, working from a good population base in Bendigo and Melbourne. The area has a lot to offer the tourist, from natural features like Melrose Caves and the Loddon River to well run attractions with helpful and friendly owners and staff. For more information please contact us.

Canoeing-Anzac Time.

We have plenty of vacancies for canoeing and camping over the Anzac period. This is a great time to be on the rivers, the flies have all gone and we can have small campfires at night. We can arrange 1/2 and full day safaris in the Nagambie area and camping and short and extended adventures around Wyuna and Yambuna on the Lower Goulburn River. We look forward to your enquiries and bookings.

Here is your chance to win that $200.00 ‘gift voucher 'from River Country Adventours. Just answer the question, all correct answers will be acknowledged and placed in a hat for the draw early in May. Have a go, you never know your luck may have changed!
