Travelling Victoria
Vol: 162 june 2013

Thanks for opening this special newsletter, and we appreciate all your support and kind comments on our business and our pursuit of excellence in all the things we do. The canoeing has quietened down now that the cooler weather has arrived, but the river is still beautiful and the bush is extra special during the winter. The water level has dropped and we really need rain for the farmers and the environment. The days are usually nice and warm and if you you would like to try a bit of canoeing, then don’t hesitate in contacting us.

Next month (July 2, 2013) River Country Adventours will chalk up 20-years of service to the tourism industry in Victoria.
How do you think we should celebrate this milestone?

The lucky winner from last month’s competition is Sally Millar from Frankston. There were seven (7) canoes on the RCA face book page. Sally has won a $200.00 gift voucher for any canoeing adventure on the Lower Goulburn River. There will be another chance to win later in this newsletter.

Whales at Head of Bight.

The first 3-day flight tour from Shepparton to Ceduna is scheduled for July 26-28, 2013. This is a terrific tour that gives you the opportunity to witness the annual massing of Southern Right whales at the Head of Bight in South Australia. The world class viewing platforms gets you close to these magnificent creatures as they suckle their young. The sea is clear and deep and with no surf you can watch the whales for hours. It is expected to have over 100 whales to be seen at the bight from June to September. The calves are born at the bight and until September when their mothers wean them, the young can’t dive. Therefore the mothers stay on the the surface tending the young, giving everyone a memorial view of nature in all it’s wondrous glory. For more information on this special flight tour contact Rob at River Country Adventoursnow. Phone 0428 585 227.
